Ames’ Curtis Bilow on Mental Health, Innovation, and Partnership in the Construction and Rail Industries
Ames Construction’s Executive Vice President Curtis Bilow offered his perspective on mental health in the construction and railroad industries in the August issue of “Railway Track & Structures” magazine.
“Construction has one of the highest suicide rates among all industries in the U.S., and the rail industry is not immune,” Bilow writes. “That’s why Ames is investing in mental health support, providing resources, and encouraging open conversations across our workforce.”
Bilow also discusses how Ames is delivering innovation where it counts: in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and safety integration, before boots even hit the ground.
“There’s no question the rail industry is in a period of transformation…. The industry needs contractors that can adapt quickly and think ahead. Ames believes the future is one of true partnership with railroads, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.”
