National Apprenticeship Week 2026
At Ames, apprenticeship isn’t separate from the work. It’s how the work gets done.
In partnership with union Registered Apprenticeship programs across the country, 178 Ames apprentices logged more than 288,000 hours of on-the-job training in multiple crafts on projects nationwide.
That’s why we recognize National Apprenticeship Week April 26 – May 2, celebrating the role apprenticeship programs play in building the backbone of our industry.
For many, careers are built on a jobsite. It’s a path of real responsibility, real skill, and steady progression, from apprentice to journeyworker, with opportunities to grow over time.
Across Ames, union Registered Apprenticeship programs are supported through:
• Financial investment in 50+ union Registered Apprenticeship programs
• Donating equipment to support hands-on training
• Field leaders who came up through apprenticeship programs
• Participation on joint labor-management apprenticeship boards
• Recruiting and sponsoring new talent into the trades
• Internal development that supports long-term career growth
This is how we build people who build the work.
Start building your career doing purposeful work that shapes the places people live, travel, and depend on every day. We offer long-term stability, opportunities at every level, and a team invested in your growth—because when you build your skills, you build your future.
