Ames Accelerates Work at the Salt Lake City International Airport
Planes are flying, and so are Ames Construction crews!
To benefit the comprehensive Salt Lake City International Airport redevelopment project, Ames is accelerating airfield and building foundation work in 2024.
Ames has contributed to The New SLC since construction began in 2016. In 2023, Ames opened four reconstructed taxiways, built the foundation for a new airport artwork project, completed work on the north cargo apron, and initiated work on four new projects.
The airport’s $5.1 billion reconstruction effort is proceeding while the transportation hub remains operational, requiring Ames and other contractors to work around airport traffic, in-use facilities, and air operations.
“We’ve produced a high-quality product from the beginning, which has led to more and more opportunities for Ames to contribute to this critical infrastructure project,” says Ames Project Manager Nicholas Posse.
